Creating background papers

I love creating beautiful hand dyed papers for greeting cards and wrapping papers. It is easy with simple copy machine paper, dye based inks or Magenta’s Nuance powders.
For dye based inks, remove the lid and rub the ink pads directly on copy machine paper, the cheaper the better, use several colors in different areas of the sheet. Next, crumple up the paper when dry and carefully open it up and rub black dye base ink over the top. This will create a batik look! You will always have wrapping paper on hand using this quick and easy method. Try using 11×17 sheets for larger projects!
